Labels and menus may vary between platforms and client versions. “Subscription,” “Configuration,” and “Import from URL” usually serve similar purposes. The steps below describe what to look for; use the user dashboard and your client’s current instructions to confirm the right buttons and supported import formats. Don’t paste your subscription link into a username, password, or server address field.
Create an account and open the user dashboard
Open the VPNKD account creation page and enter the username and password you want to use. No email address is required; you can create an account with a username and password. You’ll use the username to log in, so choose one that’s easy to recognize and save for later. Use a unique password and store it in a trusted password manager. Check your entries before submitting: an input method or an extra space copied by accident could prevent you from logging in later.
After creating your account, follow the page instructions to open the user dashboard. If you land on the login page, sign in with the username and password you just saved; there’s no need to create another account. Once inside, confirm that the account details match the account you intended to use, then check the account overview, plan, and client links. The marketing site explains the service; your plan, orders, subscription, and client downloads are managed in the user dashboard. These pages serve different purposes.
If you haven’t chosen a plan yet, you can prepare your account first. The server list won’t appear until you complete the next steps, so its absence doesn’t mean there’s a device problem. You’ll confirm your plan before getting your subscription. If your browser is signed in to another account, check which account is active before placing an order. Otherwise, the plan could be applied to a different account while your client continues using the old account’s subscription.
Choose a plan and check your order status
Open the Plans page in the dashboard and decide whether you need data that resets monthly or a data package you can use until it runs out. Monthly plans include 60GB for ¥9.9/month, 250GB for ¥18/month, and 500GB for ¥28/month. All plans allow unlimited devices; the main difference is the data allowance. Device count and data are separate: you can connect multiple devices, but they share the account subscription’s data allowance.
Data packages are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They don’t expire and can be used until the data runs out. Monthly plan data resets on the same date each month as the activation date, not at the start of the calendar month. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Not sure which option fits your usage? Read the full plan details and check the billing terms before continuing. Don’t choose based on the data allowance alone.
After choosing a plan, check the plan name, amount due, and payment method on the order confirmation page. VPNKD supports Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT. Follow the dashboard instructions to complete your payment. Then return to the dashboard and check your order and plan status; closing the payment page doesn’t confirm activation. If the status hasn’t updated, refresh the dashboard and check again. If payment is complete but the plan still isn’t showing, keep your order record and contact support through a dashboard ticket. Don’t submit the same order again.
VPNKD offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the refund policy for details on how to request a refund. Once your plan status is confirmed, continue to the next step to get your subscription. The account button in this guide doesn’t include any additional trial time or data; check the dashboard for what’s actually available.
Get your subscription and copy the full link
Open the account overview in the user dashboard and confirm that the plan you just chose is shown, then find the subscription section. The dashboard may let you copy a subscription link or send it directly to a client. If you’ve already installed a compatible client, try the import option shown in the dashboard. Otherwise, note where to find the link and come back to copy it after setting up your client in the next step.
If the dashboard offers multiple formats, choose the one that matches your client. A subscription link lets a client load server configurations; it isn’t a server address or a website login link. Use the copy option to get the complete link rather than selecting part of it manually. If the link contains query parameters, leaving any out can prevent it from loading. After pasting, check for extra spaces, line breaks, or text added by a messaging app.
Your subscription link contains account access credentials, so protect it like a password. Don’t post the full link in public forums, shared documents, or screenshots, and don’t submit it to online conversion sites you don’t trust. When contacting support about an import issue, share the error message, device platform, and client name, but hide sensitive parts of the link. If you think the link has been exposed, check whether the dashboard offers a reset option or ask support through a ticket what to do.
Example for illustration:
https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN. This is a dummy value and won’t connect. Your actual subscription is available only in the user dashboard after you log in. This page doesn’t provide real subscription links.
Import the subscription into a client
Open the client downloads page in the user dashboard and get the VPNKD client for your device platform. Read the compatibility instructions provided there. You need to be logged in to get your subscription; client access depends on the plan status and instructions shown in the dashboard. Don’t download installers with the same name from unknown sources, and don’t assume a client is compatible just because its icon looks familiar. If the dashboard lists manual import options, use a client that supports the subscription format. Don’t keep trying different formats in the same client.
The steps for each platform follow the same basic flow: set up a client, find its subscription or configuration page, paste the full link, save and refresh, then check that the server list appears. Importing a subscription doesn’t connect you automatically. Once you see the servers, complete the connection and verification steps below.
Windows: Add the link under Subscription or Configuration
On the dashboard’s downloads page, choose the Windows desktop client, install it as instructed, and open it. If the client supports direct import from the dashboard, return to the dashboard and use the relevant option. Confirm that the correct client opens if your system asks. To import manually, open the client’s Subscription or Configuration page and look for Add, Import, or Import from URL. Paste the link you copied, give the configuration a recognizable name, and save it.
After saving, refresh or update the subscription and wait for the server list to load. If you already have an older configuration, check that the new VPNKD configuration is selected. Otherwise, the list may update while your connection still uses the old configuration. Then go to the connection page and choose a server. If the client needs system proxy or tunnel permissions, enable the required mode as instructed. There’s no need to change advanced network settings right away.
macOS: Confirm the app, then update your subscription
Choose the macOS desktop client in the user dashboard, install it, and open the app. You may find it in the main window or in the menu bar. Go to configuration or subscription management and add the subscription using the import-from-link option, then save and refresh it. If importing from the dashboard doesn’t open the client in your browser, copy the link and paste it manually instead. There’s no need to keep reinstalling the app.
Once the server list appears, confirm that the configuration is selected. On your first connection, macOS may ask for permission to add a network configuration or grant access. Check that the app named in the prompt is the client you’re using, then follow the instructions. If the app says it’s connected but your browser’s external IP hasn’t changed, check the connection toggle and proxy mode first rather than replacing the subscription. See the protocol reference for more on how the modes differ.
Android: Add a remote subscription and approve the system prompt
Get the Android client from the dashboard, install and open it, then find Configuration, Subscription, or Remote Configuration management. Choose Add by URL, paste the full subscription link into the address field, save it, and update. If the page has separate fields for a configuration name and subscription URL, you can choose any name, but the address field must contain your account subscription link—not the VPNKD website domain.
Once the configuration loads, choose a server and connect. The first time you connect, Android may ask for permission to set up a network connection; verify the app before allowing it. If another VPN or network tunneling app is running on your device, disconnect it before testing. After connecting, check your external IP in a browser, then open the app you want to use. Troubleshoot background activity or battery management only if you actually experience interruptions.
iOS: Choose a subscription-compatible client as instructed
Check the user dashboard for iOS client download and import instructions, then get a client using the App Store link or compatibility guidance provided there. The setup process may differ from desktop platforms; don’t try to use Windows or macOS files as an iOS app. The client must support the subscription format provided in the dashboard. If the dashboard specifies a format, follow its instructions before copying the link, then open the app’s subscription management or URL import page.
Save the subscription and refresh it after adding the link. Confirm that the server list has loaded, then choose a server and connect. If iOS asks to add a network configuration, verify the app before allowing it. Saving a configuration alone doesn’t confirm that your app traffic is using the server. If the dashboard can open the client and start an import, you can follow those prompts, but return to the app afterward to check the configuration name, update result, and connection status.
Linux: Check the format and setup first
VPNKD also supports Linux. Check the platform instructions in the dashboard for the client, subscription format, and startup method, then follow that client’s documentation to import your subscription. The steps vary considerably between desktop environments and command-line clients, so this guide doesn’t provide generic commands that might not suit your setup. To compare protocol compatibility and resource usage, read the protocol trade-offs guide before choosing a client.
Connect to a server and verify it’s working
Return to the client’s connection page and confirm that the active configuration uses the account subscription you just got. Choose a location from the server list and connect. Pick a server based on the location requirements of the service you want to use, not just a familiar place name. VPNKD covers 120+ countries / 240+ servers. The available options depend on the list loaded from your subscription. Once the client shows a connection, keep the selected server and check your actual external IP.
Open the IP check page to see your browser’s current external IP and location, then compare it with the result from before connecting. It helps to note your original external IP first. The result reflects this browser request, not necessarily the route used by every app. With rule-based routing, different destinations may also use different routes. Location databases can disagree, so a difference in city name alone doesn’t mean the server isn’t working.
Next, open the website or app you actually want to use and check whether it loads, lets you sign in, and works as expected over time. If the app was already open before you connected, close and reopen it to establish a new connection. AI tools and streaming services may also depend on your account region, supported locations, and content licensing. A network connection alone doesn’t guarantee that a platform will allow access. For more on these use cases, read the guide to accessing AI tools.
If the subscription won’t update, check your plan status, make sure the link is complete, and confirm that the client supports its format. If the server list loads but you can’t connect, check system permissions and try another server. If the client says it’s connected but your external IP hasn’t changed, check that the right configuration is selected, the connection is on, and the proxy mode covers your browser. Change one thing at a time and repeat the same checks so you can tell what fixed the issue. Changing the client, server, and mode all at once makes it harder to identify the cause.
Once you’ve verified the connection, repeat the steps on your other devices: get a client, import your subscription, and check the connection. Unlimited devices doesn’t mean unlimited data, so keep an eye on your data usage and plan status in the dashboard. To update your subscription, use the client’s refresh option first. Copy the link again only if the dashboard resets it or asks you to switch formats.
